Our assessment to date has been positive and further upgrades are already in progress:
- This technology can replace most of the CNC process except for the deep sized raised white letter tire molds. Depth range for tire molds are set at .002 to .020 inch for now. Additional processing can take this deeper, if need be.
- New technology can be phased in and supplement CNC process during this set up.
- Provides for better tire appearance and more graphic design innovations.
- Provides for more design flexibility for tire designers.
- Pattern library available in the thousands of textured surfaces for use now.
- This technology will support all textured designs that are photographed and that current CNC engraving technology cannot process.
- No programming required for any surface texturing and lettering application.
- Is this the next breakthrough for tire design appearance and technology use?
- This molding process provides other benefits and the reasons for pursuing this are:
a. Tires look different, have futuristic looks and perceived as a value-added product.
b. This type of texturing also provides extra surface for venting tires.
This venting is significant enough, especially when applied with scribe lines used
as design borders and will also minimize the number of mini vent usage in these tire molds.
c. This type of texturing camouflages minor tire/mold surface imperfections,
such as, model lines, machine marks, various compound joints, ply endings, white and
black sidewall joints, minor mold flash and etc.
d. Texturing of re-work molds to prolong their production use and re-fresh
the appearance enough for other marketing purposes or re-launches.
